PERFORMANCE VISUALIZATION - UPCOMING EVENT
In order to visualize, you need to have a “calm mind”. The easiest way to establish a calm mind is to learn how to breath correctly – 4 second inhales, 4 second exhales. If you have done meditation, most likely you know how to calm your mind. If not, please practice your breathing pattern here before attempting to do this exercise.
This exercise walks you through how to visualize an upcoming event. Once you are able to see yourself accomplishing your goal, you are more likely to achieve your goal in the future.
Just like anything, you need to practice visualization and calming your mind. Most feel like they “can’t do it”, which I couldn’t shoot under par until I practiced for a few years. This is the same with all aspects of mental game.
In order to excel at most things in life, you need to focus on the process and execute the process consistently. “You learn to crawl before you walk, and walk before you run”. The same applies here. Stay patient, do your drills and exercises consistently, the results will follow!
